Biographical Profile

  • He is a Graduate Student Researcher (GSR) with primary appointment as a programmer. He is currently involved in a project aiming to develop and evaluate a social networking system that can be used to deliver health education, engagement, feedback and intervention to teenagers whose family with obesity and diabetes in West Virginia. This system would also provide functions to teachers, community coordinator, and researchers to perform social and health analysis including social network analysis and GIS analysis. This program is funded by the National Center for Research Resources, a part of the National Institutes of Health.
  • He is also currently involved in a study called PAMS (Physical Activity Measurement and Sharing). The purpose of this study is to develop and to evaluate a physical activity monitoring and sharing platform, especially suited for capturing physical activity (PA) that are part of the lifestyle in wheelchair users with spinal cord injury (SCI) and motivating them to be physically active. In this study, a hardware attached to wheelchair and connected to smartphone would be used to collect data. The sharing units of the PAMS would be developed as a social networking portal (SNP). This project is funded by the Department of Defense.
  • As GSR, he is also responsible to maintain IT infrastructure and to develop several research and collaboration portals, user management web applications, and group research website that are usually developed using SharePoint, ASP.Net, and Flex.
